Seriously, Why Don't Photos Load?

By
Real Estate Agent with Downing-Frye Realty, Bonita Springs, FL 676419

Why, in the year of our Lord 2024 do photos not want to upload to this site?  More than half of the photos I try to post just don't show.  Whether it's png or jpg even if the size is reduced. I give up and don't post here for the longest time because of the photo issue. It's frustrating and such a time waste. Am I the only person who has photo issues?

I'd upload a photo for attention but, you know ...

If I took a screen shot of the dozens of photos I have uploaded that are "broken"  never mind, I wouldn't be able to upload that, either.

I'd ask this question in the Q&A, and ARMS is terrific about responding and helping.

Chris, one of the biggest causes of issues with photo uploading has to do with file names.  If there are special characters in the name, the file uploader will reject the file.  Basically just stick to letters and numbers and you should be okay.

Recently we were having issues with bots using up the site bandwidth, so if you tried to upload during one of the heavy attack times you may have timed out.

It is just all the time. I'd say about 10% of the time I experience success.

Try renaming your files.  I don't remember exactly which special characters don't work, but the % sign seems to show up in quite a few of the image only

Hello Chris - glitches as well as more than a few gotcha-like moments can intrude on life during a visit to ActiveRainLand.  We I continue to hope for the best but remain grounded in the reality of the situation.  Good luck.

I hope you soon find a solution. I have not had an issue with uploading photographs from my computer.

Hi Chris,
I have that happen occasionally, and it is almost always because of a filename issue on my part.

Chris, I have forgotten a time or two, but no "dashes" or numbers in the file name, or they will not upload.

Hello Chris, I will add to the file name being final issue with problems I have had.  Simple exclamation or question mark becomes a download problem, at least for me.  I use nothing but letters and numbers now.  m

Chris -  We have gone into your photo files, and removed all of the "%" in the names.  And now all of your images load fine.  When naming your images, just use normal language, ... no special characters, and you'll be fine.

Thank you Chris for asking the question - It was something I have dealt with but never thought to ask - I thought it was just my problem
