When Should You Get Three Estimates?

Michael, I am surprised how many sellers do not talk to more than one REALTOR, especially when they are first-timers.    Repeat clients, they know what they are getting, and value clients that continue to call me!

Three estimates are a good thing..I always say to intereview three Realtors and there are other times..getting a new roof, carpet (I had a client get 3 estimates for carpet and they ranged from $14,000 to $26,000), painting etc. If the job is smaller sometimes you'll get a higher bid because they are too busy and there is bund to be someone more reasonable.

Thank you for sharing your insights, Michael! I completely agree that getting multiple estimates is not only a smart investment of time but can also lead to significant savings, especially for home sellers when choosing a REALTOR.

Hi Michael- I couldn't agree more. I remember when we replaced our roof.  We got 3 estimates and everything else being equal we took the middle one. 

Great advice Michael Elliott  now why the free ride to surgeons?:)) just kidding if there is a good one don't look at what it will cost... reminds me of being a Realtor if you get a good one no need to price shop for a cheap one:)Endre

Hi Michael... well, I was the only agent interviewed on Sunday and I was hired. And the sellers specifically said after meeting with me they would not be interviewing any more agents... that I totally blew them away. I like it when that happens.

Michael Elliott I have to replace my tires at the end of this month, and I will be getting 3 estimates, maybe even 4.

We know that most clients go with the first agent that they meet. Which is why our time is best spent meeting people and staying in touch with those people whom we know.
