........................................................
Hi All,
I hope ALL of you are having a great Friday...or at least a good one!
We received another inch of rain this week and the temps have been cool so the trees and grasses are all looking healthy...and the sprinkler systems are mostly off!
Stopped in today for Breakfast at my
favorite coffee shop... Kitt's Kitchen: https://www.kittskitchen.com/
Excellent Breakfast ...
BUT: I forgot the college students were back in town and this place is busy!
I am sitting at the end of one of the bars in a spot I have never sat in...and except for being a bit narrow...does not get a lot of traffic walking by staring at my screen.
Even the patio which holds about 32 folks is full. I knew it was going to be tight when I could not find a place to park. But the staff is hustling and they always do a great job.
I am writing this as I am enjoying my 2nd cup of whatever today's blend is.
I always get the bottomless cup ... not sure it is the best deal but they treat me well!
Writing this blog on my laptop which works a lot different than my tower drive. And the tower has most of my actual files on it. Many folks only have a laptop but I really like the tower drive way better and also the 24" screen.
So I dump a lot on a zip drive file to transfer. Amazing how much data fits on a zip drive these days. The one I carry with me is 128 gigabytes. I also have a 128 gig zip in our Safe and update it about every three months...just so I do not lose everything if a catastrophe would hit.
Time to do that again. I do strongly recommend backing up your data this way...for me, I know as long as I can access a computer, I can access that data...especially photos. I do not back hardly anything up on the internet as I know that data is only a few clicks from being stolen or deleted by bad people or glitches in the system.
Will finish this Friday mind wandering with wondering if I need a new roof?
My neighbor just had shingles delivered yesterday afternoon and is the 4th home within 100 yards of our house that have had new roofs put on in the last 2 months.
Maybe there was a storm while we were not home sometime this year.
I guess I will call our State Farm agent and see what he thinks. He will give me a straight answer as we have been friends and he was actually in our wedding when he was about 13 years old.
I know we did receive notice that they were going to change the deductibles on our roof and siding...so since it is Friday...I will drive by his office on my way home and see if he is there. He typically takes Fridays off.
That's it...sorry I took up so much of your time reading this silly blog.
Have a fantastic weekend...
Until Next Time... Get up and get out and move around! If you don't use it...you just might lose it!! Mike
Following photo was taken on 8-9-24 at the Shelton River bridge of the Platte River...this is downstream around 14 miles from the first photo above that was taken on 8-15-24! Amazing what rain does to our ecosystem. Mike
