All the news is about the change in real estate taking effect today. We are seeing a lot of discussion on television and online about these changes. Despite what you may have read about slashing of home prices, agents leaving the industry, and the sky falling - I don’t feel that way! Who we are hasn't changed. What we do hasn't changed. How we do it will change, and we welcome the challenge!
A little background…a group sued the National Association of REALTORS® about commissions which was settled with some conditions. That will result in a change on how we do business. I saw what the result was going to be and added another Realtor Kindal Glasgow and a Broker Associate Kevin Sexton with 35 years of experience in new construction and real estate bringing my team to seven members Does that sound like a doomsday response?
My advice for buyers and sellers is to interview Realtors. You want somebody who considers your real estate solutions over the interest in other entity. You need to have chemistry with your Realtor because you are going to spend a lot of time with them. Trust will grow through the process. For sellers, you list with the person you chose based on the services they provide. Not all listing agents are created equal. Buyers you will need to sign a buyers representation agreement before any Realtor can show you a property.
For the record The Betts Team can work with all Preowned Listing in The Villages, can represent buyers for new construction, and offer rentals solutions on our Facebook Page “Village Rentals”. We also provide a Concierge Service for those interested in renting a property they own or helping investors get started. Social Media sites in The Villages can contain a lot of misinformation. I just want to set the record straight!
