I can't wait to share all the amazing ways to explore this picturesque LA suburb! Pasadena is a gem, bursting with history, culture, mouthwatering food, and endless activities. Whether you're a foodie, a history buff, or an outdoor enthusiast, there's something here for everyone. Let's dive into some of our favorite spots around town!

Places to Eat
Pasadena has earned its stripes as a "foodie" haven in Southern California. With a reputation for exceptional culinary schools and a thriving restaurant scene, it’s no wonder so many successful LA-based eateries set up shop here. Whether you’re craving a slice from The Pie Hole, an artisanal coffee at Urth Caffé, or a scoop of Salt & Straw’s inventive ice cream, Pasadena has you covered. And that's just the start—this city is home to over 500 restaurants, boasting more dining options per capita than even New York City!

Places to Shop
Pasadena isn’t just about great food; it's a shopper's paradise too. The Paseo, a stunning Spanish-style outdoor mall, is the go-to spot for retail therapy, dining, and catching the latest blockbuster in a luxury theater. If you’re in the mood for a more quaint experience, stroll through the Burlington Arcade, a charming nod to the covered passageways of London and Paris, perfect for a leisurely afternoon of window shopping. From well-known chains to unique local boutiques, Pasadena has something for every shopper.

Places to Learn
When it comes to museums and gardens, Pasadena has plenty to offer. The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens are a must-see, with over 200 acres of beautifully curated landscapes, galleries, and cozy cafes. It’s no wonder this spot frequently appears in movies and TV shows! Art lovers will also enjoy the Norton Simon Museum, where you can find hidden gems from masters like Rembrandt, Picasso, and Monet. And for a unique cultural experience, the Pacific Asia Museum houses one of the largest collections of Japanese folk paintings outside of Japan.

Places to Hike
Pasadena locals love to hike, and it’s easy to see why. The San Gabriel Mountains are practically in our backyard, offering trails that lead to waterfalls, secluded swimming holes, and breathtaking lookout points. Nearby hikes also offer stunning views of Downtown LA, the iconic Hollywood Sign, and even the rugged cliffs of Malibu. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just looking for a scenic stroll, Pasadena’s trails won’t disappoint.

Places That Are Just Plain Cool
Pasadena has its fair share of unique spots that you just can’t miss. The Rose Bowl is not only UCLA’s home field but also an epic concert venue surrounded by trails, golf courses, stables, and Olympic-sized pools. For the science-minded, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is a real treat. Operated by Caltech and owned by NASA, JPL has been the birthplace of some of the most iconic space missions. Public tours and school field trips are just the beginning—we can already see our students diving deep into the world of space exploration here.

No matter what you're into—outdoor adventures, delicious food, or cultural experiences—Pasadena has it all. With the vibrancy of LA and its nearby suburbs just a stone's throw away, our students will find endless opportunities to learn, explore, and make the most of their new home in Southern California.

Hello Matt - there's much to discover in countless communities in California.  As a native of the state, there are still many places for me to explore.  And the differences and diversity in many aspects remain evident.  That's certainly true in Pasadena.
