Dear Michelle,
We've made it to the 7th letter...G
I hope this letter finds you with a smile on your face as you opened the envelope.
You are young in a world that is exciting, challenging, and (honestly) a little scary. I want to share with you two qualities that I believe are essential for a happy and fulfilling life: Gratitude and being Genuine.
Gratitude is like a magical lens that allows us to see the beauty in every situation, even when things don’t go as planned. It’s about appreciating what you have, the people in your life, and the experiences that shape you. When you practice gratitude, you begin to notice the small blessings that often go unnoticed... the fact that you have a roof over your head and enough food in the pantry. These moments are the threads that remind us to be content even though we don't have everything we want. Always take a moment to pause and say thank you, whether it’s for something big or small. It will keep your spirit strong.
Being Genuine, on the other hand, is about being true to who you are. It’s easy to get caught up in trying to be what others expect of us, but the real magic happens when you embrace your authentic self. There is no one else in the world like you, and that’s something to celebrate! When you are genuine, you attract people who appreciate you for who you really are, and you build relationships that are based on trust and mutual respect. Remember, when you're with the right people, it’s okay to be vulnerable, to share your thoughts and feelings openly, and to stand by your values. In doing so, you’ll find that life feels more meaningful, and you’ll experience a deeper sense of connection with yourself and others.
Michelle, life isn’t always easy, but with gratitude and a commitment to being genuine, you’ll navigate its ups and downs with happiness and resilience. These qualities will not only bring you joy, but they’ll also inspire those around you to live their lives more fully.
I’m so proud of the person you are becoming, and I can’t wait to see all the wonderful things life has in store for you. Keep shining your light, stay true to yourself, and always remember how loved you are.
With all my love,
Grandmas Carol
