Is Technology our Friend?

I know over the years, technology has improved the way we do business.  One, the digital contracts are FABULOUS.   Our clients can be anywhere in the world, and sign a contract.   They send reminders on the dates so they don't pass without notice and keeps all the documents in the cloud.

Email drives us all crazy, especially the spam that comes in all day long (and all night long...), but we couldn't do business without it.

This morning, I have a listing that will expire in a couple of weeks, and now our local MLS alerts us of these dates.  When we enter a listing, it requires an expiration date as well.    I am SO thankful for this feature, as I remember way back then...

Probably somewhere from 2006-2008 when it was a serious buyer's market, homes were on the market FOREVER!  Some expired before you could get them sold, as the sellers believed it was our fault....   Well, one day I couldn't figure out why I hadn't gotten any showings for the entire week.   OH MY GOODNESS, the listing had expired the week before.   I did not have a good system in place for expiring listings!   I certainly did after this happened.   Luckily, it was past clients, and they renewed right away, but WOW, it could have gone a different direction.

 

 

 

This is one piece of technology I am grateful for!

Hello Joan - while my friendliness with technology may have more of a skeptical angle to it, it's nonetheless a constant companion.  Maybe more like an annoying acquaintance - truth be told. 

I have adapted, adjusted and found more than a few workarounds as I use it to continue to function the best I can.  Life goes on. . .

I am on the fence on this one Joan Cox but only because I have snagged my britches while crawling over to the other side. 

I mean...let's compare 1993 and the tear sheets and the books we got each week versus the late 90's and early 2000's when we were all becoming computer literate (so we thought) versus today with all that is available and yes...even AI sneaking more and more into our lives. 

Not sure if the future is the dark side or the bright side...but I am moving forward with both excitement and trepidation.
