In ActiveRain's September challenge, we have been tasked with a 53-word post about a subject we have passion for. Real Estate is an obvious one, but where I live is also another passion.
I first moved to Colorado with my family when I was five, when my Dad got transferred from Omaha Nebraska!
It doesn't take long to come up 53 words, so here are the reasons I stay in Colorado.
The humidity level is usually very low. Not many other places can say this!
You always know which direction is West, those glorious Rocky Mountains are to the West, and they don't move! We are messed up when it is too cloudy or have serious smoke in the area and cannot see them! When I go elsewhere, I get easily turned around!
Denver is a very diverse City, with so many nationalities and food choices. You could spend an entire month trying every different type of food in the City! Although Mexican is my favorite, and I have some that I like the best and visit often! I may be Swedish & Danish, but my stomach is pure Mexican! 🤣🤣
It doesn't take long to get into the mountains! From my house, I can be there in less than an hour, enjoy the cooler weather and the beauty! You can go hiking, camping, or skiing, whatever your heart desires in less than a couple of hours. Skiing is a couple of hours away. You could ski in the morning, and golf down in Denver in the afternoon!
Yes, we do get snow, and sometimes a lot, but with being at 5,280 elevation, the snow melts quickly, usually. We can get snow, wind, rain, and sunshine all in one day. Wait 30 minutes and the weather could change. When you buy a home, if it faces south, you can be ahead of the snow shoveling! The North & South sides of the street are definitely different in the winter!
There is always something to do or see in Denver! There are festivals, concert venues all over the metro area, and arenas to enjoy sports events!
Living in Colorado, you have SO much to see all over the State. Mesa Verde, Telluride & Ouray, Grand Junction, Dinosaur National Park, Estes Park, Glenwood Springs, and Steamboat Springs! Always fun to go for a ride around Colorado!
Colorado is a destination state for a reason, there is so much to do and see!
