Friday Flags A Loyal American with a Home in Portugal

Good morning, Ed... makes my heart swell with pride to see that patriotism from an expat.

That is a nice setup, I wonder if the people of Portugal are offended at all by an American flag?

I see it all the time when I visit Portugal, specifically Terceira island in the Azores. Usually American and Canadian flags.

Ed-I love this!!!!  I think if I were in another country and saw our flag flying like that, I would have to stop. I would feel so proud.

I appreciate the vivid imagery of the flags and how they represent the connection between two homelands; your journey and reflections remind us of the beauty of blending cultures. Ed excellent photo.  I did not see the American Flag flying on the two islands I was at in the Azores.  But with the number of Portuguese people who live in the US, and have second homes in the Azores, I would hope there are some flying both flags.

Ed I did not see any American Flags being flown with the Portuguese Flag when I was in the Azores, but I was only on two of the islands.  I would hope that with the number of Portuguese people living in the US that have second homes in the Azores, that there would be some who fly both flags.

Seems like Portugal is an attractive country to live in. We have several people who have moved from Alaska to Portugal lately.  One gal said she an longer afford to live in America and went on about how affordable everything is in Portugal including health care!   I am sure it is beautiful and the weather is too! Enjoy!

That is really cool Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 . The only flag that has flown under my USA flag is The Air Force flag.

Did you enjoy Portugal? I have never been, but they have good music, so I imagine it to be a nice place. Maybe some of those US & Canadian expats agree.
