FIFTY THREE WORDS ABOUT FALL
by Patricia Feager 9/5/2024
AUTUMN
My soul is married to the season of Fall
Brilliance of hues of crimson and gold
Scent of fresh rain on soil shriveled
Sound of Autumn leaves
Scent of woody earth
Sight of orange pumpkins
Spicy scents baking in the oven
Taste of hot Chai Latte Tea
Baked bread with brown crust
I hope all the members of ActiveRain are having fun with the 53 Word Challenge for September 2024. Just 53 Words. Reading your stories has meant so much! They are ALL so different. Positively! Beautifully written! Straight from the heart.
Usually, I make a list of things to do in preparation for the season of Fall. This time I created a bouquet of flowers and with each petal and leaf that falls, I have to remember something important to do before the weather changes and the winds blow. So far, I'm getting more done than if I had made a traditional "To Do" list.
This is a good time for neighbors to help neighbors. If you see something that needs to be done. Do it. During Labor Day weekend the humidity was so high I nearly passed out mowing the grass. A couple of ladies, who I do not know stopped their car and insisted I take a rest while one finished cutting the grass (front and backyard too) and the other trimmed the hedges that were too high for me to reach. They were the PERFECT neighbors; now PERFECT friends.
Always remember. The BEST feature on ActiveRain is the ability to make friends while building strong relationships. Life's Purpose: Building bridges - Not Walls Calls for Action!
Yours truly,
Patricia Feager
