Sep 2024 AR Contest Challenge

By
Real Estate Agent with Fathom Realty 8431215

Family, fun, sports, competition and food all define me.  Jersey raised, Philly loving and usually Maine-vacation bound,  my love for family, cheesesteaks, the EAGLES,  Acadia National Park and real estate sales  usually dominate my thoughts.  One career, my only ever full time job, I am a real estate lifer, with no regrets.

*****************************************************************************************************

When I first read of Patricia Feager, ABR,CRS,GRI,MRP  and Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543  September 2024 Challenge, I thought, "Oh finally an easy one !"   Then I read about "Part 2".

The 53 word part was easy peasy once I was on track.  But it took me a while to get there.  Sometimes, it isn't so easy to tell your story.  Sixty-one years yet only fifty-three words!  Funny how all those meaningless, stressful, chaotic moments are not in the final fifty-three.  I have my attitude, faith and overall sense of happiness to thank for that.

It is interesting how going through a few personal hells reshapes what is important, and shows you what to focus on.   Not the first or the second,  but I am there now.  And  as I contemplate all that,  would I have the peace and happiness now without having endured all of it?

Not a chance.

And for that, I feel blessed, thankful and beyond grateful.  How  we react to things and how we perceive things,  is in my opinion the most important aspect of life.  Sometimes life just flat out sucks.   Sometimes we have people conflict.  Sometimes, people near to us die.  Everyone experiences this.  No one escapes it.  Sometimes, lots of bad things happen all in succession.  Am I cursed?  Does God not like me?  Is this my future?   All valid questions.  But the answer is no.

Like most humans, I get upset, angry, and sometimes feel disillusioned.  But I snap back very, very quickly.  My strength, my absolute secret weapon, has always been my bounce back attitude and resiliency.  That's how I have long life relationships.  That is why I have had the same career for 40 years,  and why I have been in the same home for 31.

I love life, because I am pretty good at focusing on the good stuff, and changing the channel on the bad.  I drive around pot holes.

When life sucks, I count my blessings.

Well said Michael Elliott . I had no idea those from NJ were such big sports fans until I visited my Uncle last fall. Boy oh boy is that side of my family sports fans. I had no idea because my mom had zero interest. North Dakota is not nearly as focused on sports. In fact pick a sport like football... the typical joke is "Why doesn't ND have a professional football team... because Minnesota would want one too then".

Hi Michael,
We had to be so succinct in 53 words, and then we were allowed to go free reign to reach 300 more words minimum! That was a brain shift.   Good job!

Hi Michael Elliott   Great 53 word blog and followup.  I am a lot like you in that if and when I get frustrated or upset...it is not a very long pity party for me as I tend to look at everything through rose-colored glasses.  My cup has never been totally dry and as long as there is soemthing in it...I know I will rise again!  Have a great weekend!

Excellent post, Michael!!!  Your 53 words were perfect, but to top that off, your "longer" version was even better. I'm all about a positive attitude toward life however when the PPM's (Poor pitiful me) hit, I shake it off as soon as possible.

Our potholes and detours add depth to our lives. How bland our existence would be without them.

Hey Michael any story involving Philly Cheesesteaks and the Eagles is a good one. I loved Nick Foles by the way. He should still be playing somewhere, bad breaks. That drop and then the 1 minute drive by Cousins this week was shocking. They should have run the ball. Jeff
