Maybe It's Just A Dumb Thing To Do.

This cartoon by Timmothy just made me laugh... no deep thoughts came to mind from reading it.

I am up for most social gatherings among my friends.

Having a party of everyone sticking their tongue out wouldn't interest me. What would interest me is an Active Rain "Meet Up". However the problem is that everyone active in ND is me (I think) and if everyone in neighboring Montana joined me it would be Kat Palmiotti and I (again, I think).

If you are new to Active Rain and you have never heard of a AR meet up you should check with others in your State and get one going... I'd be so jealous if you did.

Good morning, Bob... Charlotte area does not have many AR members either, despite being a much bigger area than yours. I organized a meet-up once... most people did not even respond; many of those who did cancelled at the last minute. I've not repeated this exercise. I do my meet-ups when I travel to areas where some of my favorite AR peeps are located.

Nina Hollander, Broker I hope you know that there is no place I'd rather be then with you in NC (or anywhere else for that matter 😋).

Nina Hollander, Broker (my Love) I agree with you and Kat Palmiotti that maybe the only way we can hold a meet-up these days is one on one when we are out traveling. If my health remains strong I plan on visiting you, Kat, and Wayne Martin next year.

Bob "RealMan" Timm well, I'm a bit in the opposite direction from Kat and Wayne... but we will be delighted to welcome you to the Carolinas!

Good morning Bob. When I lived in southwest Florida organized many, the turnout was fair. When I moved to Chicago, organized a few. The first one held in Evanston Illinois had Rainers from Indiana and Wisconsin attending. The big surprise was a Rainer from California who had read a post earlier that day. Participation here in the Rain in the Chicago area is sparse. Someday you and I might organize a two man meet. Enjoy your day.

Hmm, that kind of makes me wonder if a tongue actually would dry up if left out all of the time, haha.

No doubt it would Brian England . I vow not to try to prove though.

I just checked the leaderboards and you and I are definitely the most active real estate posters in our states. Believe it or not, although our states are right next to each other, it'd be a 12 hour each-way meet up! I like to look up fellow AR's when I'm traveling and see if a meet up is possible. But it sure would be fun to get a bunch of us together!

I knew it was a distance Kat Palmiotti but I did not realize that it was that far. I really feel for some of those baseball teams that come to Minot if they lose... that would be a long drive home.

Years ago, MeetUps in our area were common. I have not seen any recent plans.

Roy Kelley it would be interesting to know how many people are actually "Active" on AR today.

Many of the new members never post a blog.

The heavy traffic in the DC Metro Area makes MeetUps more challenging in the region.

That is an interesting observation Roy Kelley as I only know of new members by seeing them make their first time post. That being said the number on the home page of AR seems to rarely change.

Just watched, again, Dumb and Dumber where he sticks his tongue on the frozen lift chair post.  So this is pretty funny.  And a party of 2 never a bad deal.  M

Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint-Idaho I'm guessing that very few North Dakota boys have not stuck their tongue to a piece of metal in the winter. Flag poles seem to be a huge magnet for boys to give it a try to.

You are correct, a party of two is never a bad time... I can't wait to get to NC.

We used to have Meet UPs and it was fun, Ironically the AR powers to be not fans of Meetups because it took away control from them and we created friendships... now with that said Meetups can be created by like-minded people and sadly in your case ti would need to be planned far in advance and maybe a long commute to get to the meetup, Endre
