Motivational Monday…Make Your Memories
This weekend, we celebrated the life of my sister-in-law’s father. He passed away almost 5 months to the day he lost his great love and wife..Mrs. A.
During the services his daughters, grandchildren, cousins and other close family members shared funny and sweet stories about him.
My niece recalled that her grandfather was always there to pick her up from activities if needed. He stressed the importance of family first, no matter what differences you may have
His nephew, who grew up on the same block, recalled the encouragement his Uncle Pete gave him when upon graduation from college, he decided to join the military.
One of his granddaughters remembered how much he loved talking to people. When he took her to the mall, they always ran into someone he knew. She said “20 minutes later” we would finally continue their outing.
Mr. A loved the Astros. When Larry and I saw him, if it was during baseball season, he could tell you who was pitching, the stats, and who needed to go!
It occurred to me that our time with family, friends and others are memory makers.
Take a moment to recall a special memory of a relative or friend. It may have been only a moment but it had an impact on you!
These memory maker moments are what’s important in life. They add a layer to our lives that make all the other stuff we endure worthwhile.
We never know when a conversation we have with a child…or having a cup of coffee with a friend will be remembered in a special way.
So head out this week and make as many memory maker moments as you can.
We do not remember days, we
remember moments.

If you can take the time to be present with your family, the memories will be clearer and stay with you longer.

Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment, until it becomes a memory.
