u2015: Pope Frances Visits the United Sates on September 23

u2006: Facebook opens Sept. 26 to everyone 13 years or older with a valid email address.

u2001: Protesters storm the abandoned U.S. Embassy Sept. 26 in Kabul, Afghanistan.

u1990: On Sept. 26, the "NC-17" movie rating debuts, barring moviegoers 16 or younger.

u1982: "Cheers" debuts Sept. 30 on NBC, beginning its 11-season run.

u1954: The "Tonight!" show debuts Sept. 27 on NBC with Steve Allen as its host.

u1829: London's reorganized police force, called Scotland Yard, is introduced Sept. 29.

u1825: The first passenger train travels Sept. 27 from Darlington to Stockton, England.

I do recall the Cheers show and more so the Bull and Finch pub in Boston that was the show's model.

 I also recall being in an airport waiting for a delayed flight to land so that I could board to go home. Out of the gateway comes George Wendt with that special walk of his and stops and looks left and right and then at me.

I point in the direction he has to go and just say That way Norm, and he waves and goes toward the terminal.

Hi Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 ..I can't believe Cheers first episode was in 1982 but I loved the show. Sadly we don't have any shows like that anymore where real people bonded and became family and poked fun at each other.

You are so right Nina Hollander, Broker we just don't have comedies like that anymore!
