Real Estate Advice- Seller Checklist For The Week Of Closing
Getting ready to sign the docs and hand over keys to your Alexandria Louisiana area home? With all the chaos and confusion that comes with that final push, let's take a minute to review those last week chores.
Seller last week of escrow checklist
1) Collect receipts/invoices for any inspection response repairs-- The easiest thing to do is have a folder on the kitchen counter. When the buyer does their final review, here it is! As a bonus this folder can be a great place to list the contact information for favored vendors. Who better for the buyers to call than someone who has worked on the home in the past?
2) Move out prior to closing-- Don't try to move right at the closing time. There is nothing worse than getting to closing and informing the buyer, "we have everything out except for the garage, workshop, and upstairs.
3) Forward your mail--Take a minute an fill out a change of address with the post office. For your "big bills" go directly to the company and update the address.
4) Clean The home top to bottom--I've noticed a trend the last five years of sellers not cleaning or mowing the lawn. Sweep/vacuum and clean counters. Got trash? Take it out!
5) Have the lawn mowed-- Nothing says thanks for the offer like knee high grass. If the lawn is too wet, hire a company to mow the following week.
Moving can be stressful for both buyer and seller. Hopefully this checklist provides some structure! Need a top real estate agent in Alexandria or Pineville Louisiana?
