Hello Nina - at the risk of sounding too citified, I don't recall ever visiting a maze or taking a hayride.

While I observed some pumpkins growing in part of our backyard while growing up, I don't ever recall picking one from the vine. As I recall, my younger brother was quite proud of the bounty he produced.   Your post provided more than a patch of memories.  Thanks.

Michael Jacobs that's okay, Michael... I've never carved a pumpkin in my life. But I do "decorate" my house for Halloween... lots of Halloween cats! No surprise there, I'm sure! :)

Michael Jacobs I think it's time that you and Nina get a pumpkin and carve it for Halloween!!!

Michael Jacobs you are very welcome, Michael! I've never raised a single fruit or vegetable in my 75+ years. I don't even buy pumpkins at the grocery store!

Nina Hollander, Broker - I am sure I have picked up a pumpkin or two from the grocery store as the spirits of Halloween perhaps moved me to do so.   But that was in the past.  Just the other day, I saw a special price on pumpkin pie and purchased it.  It was particularly tasty.  🎃

Kathy Streib - I can't, and dare not, speak for Nina Hollander, Broker or anyone else, but I will pass on ever participating in pumpkin carving.  Even as a child, I outgrew Halloween, trick or treating and all sorts of October 31st activities quite early in my childhood.

Hi Roy... it's been raining since about 6am... but not as hard as predicted. I expect it will keep raining through tomorrow. But they are still saying the weekend will be nice.

Nina- I haven't been to a pumpkin patch in several years. They're so much fun!!!!  We used to carve pumpkins as well.

Kathy Streib hi Kathy... I've never been to a pumpkin patch and I've never carved a pumpkin. It simply wasn't "a thing" in NY City growing up, so it's never been "a thing" for me as an adult.

Lew Corcoran hi Lew... if I've learned anything living in Charlotte... we've got two kinds of people... those like me who don't pick anything and those who can't wait to pick apples, berries, pumpkins, etc.

Endre Barath, Jr. good morning, Endre... I'm such a city girl I have no fun memories of such activities... the most memories I have is cutting down my own Christmas tree.

Nina, that is what I miss! Fall should have all of those things and leaves that change color. Down here in Florida, it is just too hot to think that it is already Fall. Our temps are still going over 90 on a daily basis and the humidity is awful. Thanks for reminding me that there are places where you can do these things in September.

Barbara-Jo Roberts Berberi, MA, PSA, TRC - Greater Clearwater Florida Residential Real Estate Professional I know whereof you speak, Barbara... I lived in the Middle East for 22 months... no change in seasons. That's a big reason we chose Charlotte when we decided to move from NY City. I wanted four seasons, albeit a short and sweet winter. Trust you are doing well after Helene.
