It's Bed Time

By

I thought I'd take a look (search the web) to see if there are any animals that do not sleep. There is at least 10, Man is not one. Neither are guinea pigs.

I am a very scheduled person. In general I get out of bed at the same time every day and start my routine of personal hygiene, go to work, eat lunch, go back to work and on and on until it's bed time at 10:00 PM. Pretty boring, I know but my routine works well for me, my family, and my dog. 😊

As far North as we live the sun may still be up for another hour or it may have set nearly six hours prior. As organized/scheduled as I am I should move to the equator where the sunrise and sunset are more regular.

Now with the onset of Winter and daylight saving time about to begin I will be able to watch the sunset at 4:00 PM.

We are very similar in hat regard, Bob.  Routines and bed time have always been a thing for me.  Have a great weekend.

Watching the sunset before bed and then the sunrise after waking up is a wonderful thing!

Yes, I'm pretty set in my wake up/go to sleep times as well. Here, on the shortest day of the year, the sun sets at 4:45pm and rises at 8:25am. Lots of darkness!

That sounds about the same as we have Kat Palmiotti , way to much darkness. At my office I use a "Happy" light year around as I have no windows. It is so important to have that full spectrum lighting in the winter being there are days I see no sun light.

True! My office has a huge window so even if it's cloudy I do get light.

Now that I am semi-retired Charles Ross - eXp Realty LLC it is a little easier to make sure I see some sun light during the day. Then again when I was an active Realtor I was out and about a lot so as your hash tag says, Life Balance.

That's an early sunset, Bob! When it comes to my schedule, I'm also a creature of habit. I don't like my schedule disrupted.

Same here Nina Hollander, Broker (My Love). The shortened hours of daylight throws me off a bit but I pay a lot more attention to the clock then I do the hours of sun light.

 Hi Bob,
I am currently reading a book series set in North Dakota. It sounds brutal in the winter, which I know is true.

It is not always brutal but they are always to long Carol Williams 😉. To me three months would be great but 5 to 6 months is brutal indeed. What book are you reading?

Carol Williams , my best friend was the head librarian for 30+ years in Minot and one of his favorite authors (if not his #1 favorite) is Louis Lamoure, an ND native who wrote a whole lot of Western stories.

It's the Sweetwater Ranch Cowboy Western Romance series of 10 books. I bought them all as a bundle, for the same price as one. I don't see that option now. I see there is an 11th book now, not included in my set. Lots of twists and turns in the plots.  Nothing R or X rated. Just a nice romance series that doesn't surgar coat how difficult ranch life in North Dakota can be.

Good Morning Bob "RealMan" Timm

I am usually a night owl and I dislike the morning being dark again and the sun going down at 4 pm during the "fall back" season.

It can be depressing Doug Dawes and that is why I use a lot of manmade lighting. In the art gallery we have 10 overhead light fixtures and the lighting in the gallery includes 18 floods on the art works. At home I also go whole hog. When I am blogging at home my desk is surrounded by 6 LED shop light fixtures.

Good morning Bob,

I tend to follow my routines too. I'm usually up early and want to get my walk in. You really have an early sunset...not sure I'd like it but sure I would get use to it!

The funny this is Dorie Dillard Austin TX that it seems to happen so sudden at the end of summer. It also seems very slow in building back up in the Spring.

That is an adorable picture of the guinea pig, Bob.  My grandson had one named, Donny.  Donny was more like a dog than a guinea pig.  Only he whistled instead of barked.

Your comment made me smile Myrl Jeffcoat even though I don't remember our guinea pigs whistling BUT me dad taught me to whistle like a gopher at a very young age. They are both rodents so I don't know why I never tried whistling to the guinea pigs.

Winter is indeed coming and darker mornings too! Where I Live in Alaska, we get daylight from around 10 to 4 so it's not so bad as the places where the sun goes down in late October and doesn't pop up again till February, I could not take that!
