Feeling Off Your Game?

In the world of Real Estate there are seldom cases involving Handcuffs and sirens and cops, oh my!

However there are certainly days where a Real Estate professional maybe a little off. When they are really off then there may be handcuffs and sirens and cops, oh my.

Every week Real Estate students that visit this blog site ask "what is the most important fiduciary duty" and the barrage of answers very from nothing if you don't get caught to you will have your head chopped off. It's quite entertaining reading usually. One thing for sure... you will be a little "off" if they do chop your head off.

Hello Bob - passing the state real estate licensing examination is obviously an important step.  And the testing of your knowledge of the industry as well as how to approach situations remains ongoing after that moment.  Yes, it's continuing education.  And it's a commitment.

I remember those days of studying for our licenses and for the Brokers license as well and to me it was miserable but as you said Michael Jacobs  it was an important step. The continuing education taught us HOW to sell Real Estate and that I enjoyed.

Howdy Bob,  it still amazes me hearing seasoned agents comments on skirting rules and even simple ethics.  Not just found in Real Estate but most any business.  Some businesses you would expect higher standards but money seems to do odd things.  m

Good morning, Bob... getting one's head cut off might be a tad extreme as a response. Landing in real estate jail and having one's license cut off might be more like it.

Agreed Nina Hollander, Broker . I am not aware of many sever cases in our MLS but I do know of about 3 agents losing their licenses.

Bob "RealMan" Timm I actually knew one agent (who also happened to live down the street from me) who did go to real estate jail in a federal prison.

Just a tad but I know of one agents sexual transgressions who should have had something chopped off.

Good morning Bob. Loss of license is not quite as bad as getting your head chopped off but it does end your real estate career. So, close! Enjoy your day.

Yup! And if it is a seasoned agent it would be cutting a career off Wayne Martin , much like cutting a lifeline off.

I have a lot of days like that so I can certainly relate, haha.  Overall, life is good though!

I am having one of those days today (Saturday) Brian England . Since early this morning we have been experiencing wind gusts up to 50mph and it's supposed to keep up until tomorrow morning. It's hard to do anything outside and already we have had some damage around our house. I feel "off" because I really can't do much of anything other than screen time and I get enough of that Monday - Friday.

Bob, LOL, did have some police come to a listing twice I think.   All because of security alarms going off.   One actually said - it is time to leave!  LOL

I like that warning Joan Cox . I saw one on TV that sounded like a pack of snarling dogs being released and that was funny.

Bob, I had never heard anything like that, why would you tell a potential buyer to leave?

Oct 08, 2024 06:35 AM

Joan Cox I was assuming this was a visitor casing the place and not looking at the property as a potential home. I guess asking someone to leave without knowing their motive may not be the best solution but often that could be determined by the time of day/night the warning was delivered.
