2024 Colors of Fall in Connecticut 1
We are into October and already there are some changes in the colors of the trees. The nights have been a bit cooler and it starts the change in the leaves.
I play in a Seniors Golf league in Watertown CT which is in Litchfield county. As it is the Northwestern part of the state it not only has the coolest temps, but also the hills make for a greater panorama for the colors. Being on the gold cure just affords a better vantage point to see the trees without homes in the way.. The sacrifices we make.

The shot above is looking down from the tee on our 11th hole. Formerly the 2nd but sides were reversed this year. The photo below is looking back up towards the tee.

These trees show a lot of color as they get a lot of sunlight normally.
The photos below is closer to the 11th green with the colors around the pond.

The next photo is looking up to the 13th green which is the shot I took last week with the lone colored maple.

Then on the same hole looking down towards the tee from the green.

Moving over to the 15th hole, a par 5 which shows a lot of color once they have had more time to change.

I moved up to the front 9, which are higher on the hillside and offer typically more views of the hills on the opposite side of the vale as well as the longer fairways. I started at the 4th fairway where the hills can be seen with minimal colors as yet.

Then a shot looking down the 7th fairway towards the green.
The par 5 9th is long and wide and f the colors come out as in the past they will offer a beautiful and sometimes distracting view.

Entering or leaving the park, one passes along Merriman pond which will typically offer rows of colors and when the lighting is just right, the reflections off the water.

Over the next few weeks, as long as the trees are in agreement, I will offer the changes. Below is the link to the first of this year's series.
