l have always stared at it!

Every time I drive through McRae AR I stare at this house thinking that it is the extreme example of an old house that seems to be original and needs work. It has suddenly been listed and is for sale.  So I can see it thoroughly.  It was built in 1921, says the listing.  Pretty old!!

Look at this pretty entrance.  It must be from long ago but is still fashionable and has class!  Great detail.

And here's an excellent example of chipping paint that a lender would never allow.  How many of us as real estate agents have had to insist that the seller repair the chipped paint and redo it for a buyer to get a loan.  So the front of the house shows some past glory with the fancy trim.  Look at those shingles!

The house is listed by Michele Phillips and Company, Realtors-Cabot Branch.  Listing agents are Gina Myers-Gunderman and Terry Keck.  Price is $37,500.

It is on the Historic Registry.  To learn more go to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Booth-Weir_House.  Very interesting!

I can envision the right buyer purchasing that home, and completely restoring it to its former glory.

Myrl, I think that will not happen here.  I wish it could, though.

Hello Barbara - it's always been interesting to me to learn how people, everyday as well as real estate practitioners, interpret "old".  This McRae Arkansas property for sale built in 1921 definitely qualifies as older in my opinion.

But in my market, you can find homes for sale and others that are much older.  I also remember buyers, from our area and outside it, who didn't want to see any property originally constructed before 1990, 2010 or fill-in-the-year-built.

Seeing, listening and even overhearing observations is certainly a form of entertainment.  And it's a business at times too.

Michael, you are right.  I love staring at them but don't want to live in them.  This one does have a newer roof and replacement windows so it has some good features!!

Good morning, Barbara... I love old houses like this. Hopefully someone will come along soon and buy it and restore it to its former beauty.
