Florida People! Pay Attention to Milton!

If you live in most of Florida, you know we are expecting a major hurricane. Currently, it's a Cat 5 storm with 175 mph winds. The cone is not definite, the center track is not definite, nor is the speed. It will wobble, move up and down before making land.

This is a 100 year storm. Pay attention to local media. Evacuate if you are in an evacuation zone. Tell someone where you are heading.

Be sure to secure all items that can fly in strong winds.

Gas up your vehicles.

Make sure you have medicine, 5 days food and water and CASH! Credit cards don't work without power.

Your stuff can be replaced. You are not replaceable.  Be Smart. Be Safe!

Be safe and good luck.   I could not constantly live through that.

It’s not constant. Once you understand hurricanes and know how to prepare, the stress is minimal. I’ve been here going on 40 years. I’ll take this over cold, snow, ice and earthquakes any day.

The key is preparation. I prepared in May. I brought in potential flying objects for Helene. I saw this storm and left things secure.  I just packed my cooler and safe bag and evacuated to a safer area. Stuff is replaceable.

I just saw an afternoon weather report on this and the impact will be severe because everything is so saturated from Helene

Stay safe

Dee- I hope everyone will listen. Having lived in FL off and on for over 30 years, I know how easy it is to sound or be complacent...like it's no big deal. Well this one looks like it is a big deal. Stay safe Dee!!!!!

Dee, after Helene and all the damage that one did, this one sounds even more powerful.  Stay safe.

Joan Cox it is more powerful. Helene stayed well off land in the peninsula. Milton will come in at the Tampa area and cross the state as a major Hurricane.
