I Have a Spider on My Wall - Yikes!

Spider on our Wall

The spider on our wall is huge. And it's green.

I am a bit of an arachnophobe, so I'm not entirely pleased about the situation. Good thing it's outside.

Our nextdoor neighbors have 2 young children and they decorate their yard each Halloween with several inflatables. This year they added a new one - the spider - and asked if it could hang out on the wall. Of course we said yes. The grandkids won't get to see it in person this year but thought the photo I sent was great fun.

Here's the purple monster that hangs out in their yard, too. The kids love it when they have visited.

Halloween is in the air...and in lots of yards, no doubt with much more to come.

Jeff I have seen a lot of Halloween inflatables but I don't think I have seen a spider one.

There are certainly lots of different inflatables around, and more and more every year, George Souto

There's a house up the street that must have a dozen huge black spiders on the front of the house.

No inflatables here Jeff Dowler, CRS but we also have a spider on the wall due to projection and inside there is a big rubber one on the fridge... I wish it would scare me enough to stay out of the fridge.

Ha ha Bob "RealMan" Timm

I get the lure of the refrigerator! Watch out for all that leftover Halloween candy!

Hello Jeff - even as a child, I was not much of a Halloween guy.  I guess I couldn't get into the spirt of the holiday - so to speak.  Of course, I was amazed and continue to be impressed by the creativity on display.  Scary stuff, not so much.  🎃👻🧹

You can't help but be impressed by all the decorations Michael Jacobs .

I'm with Michael Jacobs - I've never been a Halloween fan. That being said, I did notice there are quite a few homes in town with decorations. So there are a lot of fans around!

Hi Kat Palmiotti

I suspect plenty of people are also not fans...while others go all out for the holiday!

Good morning, Jeff... I've been seeing lots of spider decorations in my neighborhood as well... just not the inflatable ones. I've got black spider webs with spiders on my front windows.

The black spiders and webs seem to be very popular every year, Nina Hollander, Broker. Glad you are in the holiday spirits!

I don't decorate at all for any holiday, but I really enjoy seeing the decorations that others put up.  I am surprised that you didn't include a photo of your Halloween socks in the post, haha.

I'm sure you are not alone in not decorating, Brian England

It never occurred to me to include my socks for this post. LOL.

In the Victor Valley it's not a big deal to decorate for fall, but in New Braunfels the area goes all out.    I guess I should get a pumpkin for my porch.   That's about it for me.

Hi KAREN SANCHEZ

Some neighborhoods really do go all out. I think you SHOULD add a pumpkin!

Hi Jeff- I love Halloween!  Our old neighborhood in FL went all out at Halloween...they even had a parade. Larry and I loved our evening walks when the decorations were lit!!!  One year we had a giant spider web with huge spiders on it. I'm not sure what happened to it!

Halloween has certainly become a huge holiday for decorations and events Kathy Streib

Maybe that spider web and spiders will magically appear some day!

I yield to neighborhood pressure.  I just didn't go all out.
