Update on cone and what we need to expect next 24 hours: This is going to a very large storm and not to sound like a weatherman but don’t focus on the center line of the cone. We are currently out of the cone but still can expect some rough weather. After midnight wind gust over 50 mph, steady rain until maybe 7:00 pm Thursday. By Friday the storm will be past but what will be left behind to our south.
Brief history lesson, Hurricane Charley was expected to hit north of Tampa on August 14 or 15, 2004, instead at the last minute it turned east and slammed into Captive Island 120 miles south of where the cone and all the weather people said it would hit. It came to shore as a Cat 4 with winds of 150 mph. So don’t depend on the center line of the cone!
I am not taking Hurricane Milton lightly but if you live close to the coast and have hurricanes then you know the importance of hurricane snacks! During Irma when we evacuated after just a day I had to venture out for more hurricane snacks! This is kind of like snow days in Pennsylvania, don’t miss those days!
Be safe!
