My Parents Wedding Day!
Makes me smile thinking of my Mom, of which I do often! I know when my sense of humor comes out (which is a lot) I learned that from her. She taught me the design world and in fact got me started at a very young age. She'd say, just pick a color and paint it and if you don't like it paint over it! One time I wanted to 'build' a wall and make a bedroom in the basement for just me, complete with bathroom (which was already there). She said, as long as you do it from start to finish, with a little help a long the way - go for it. This began my love of rehabbing homes at a young age once I was out of the house.
More importantly she taught me to be kind, loving and always have a positive outlook. For that I will always be grateful 💞 She, along with my Dad showed me to work smart and know that I could do and be whatever I wanted to do and be. They called me their 'determined' one, but honestly all the kids were like this! Lordy getting a bunch of Kruchten kids together was a hoot! It was like a comedy show on wheels. And my Mom always led the show! She was so darn funny!
I also so appreciate learning the meaning of 'being of service' and caring about what's going on in our communities. Mom was always helping out other families and I was able to go with her on many of her visits.
Last night, on her Birthday (October 8th) Gary and I listened to beautiful piano music and violin music and made a toast to my Mom. Mom gave me my love of classical music and it still touches my soul deeply to this day!
There is so much I could share about my Mom!
So now my friends, I have a few tears in my eyes, thinking of what a 'cool' Mom I truly had raise me to be who I am today! I am beyond grateful for that gift!
💞 Happy Heavenly Birthday Mom! 💞
