Friday Flags: Flag by Moonlight in Prospect CT
We had a full moon this week and as I was driving home early evening, I caught the flag waving on the town green.
Yes, I know proper flag decorum would have the flag being taken down at dusk and raised early morning, but this is not a military facility.
I wanted to get a shot of the flag with the full moon in the background.
First attempt, the moon was attuned but the wind wasn't. So, I waited and got better results, but still not as well as I thought I could do.
The light at the center of the flagpole did help to keep the flag illuminated.
Still not quite satisfied but had to get back to the house.
Next night, the wind was a bit stronger and still into full moon so let's take a chance.
I got the ideal shot with flag fully furled and waving at the full moon and with the lights on the green, the war memorial within the shot as well.
A small lesson to be learned here, that patience and persistence can pay off and the results will be better than anticipated or expected.
