I just returned from Candidate Night at Delaire Landing, held at the Clubhouse. I always look forward to these political nights, when the local candidates running for senate, state representative, district judge, and next year's district attorney come and speak and answer questions. They also discuss their progress since they were in office, which I find fascinating.
Then, each person running for office will speak and inform us of what is happening in Northeast Philadelphia and why we should vote for them. I love to hear this information. Mike Driscoll is my neighbor, elected to the city council office, and works with our fantastic 100th Mayor, Cherelle Parker, representing our section of NE Philly. I know these people personally and can call them if I need them, and they make me so proud when I hear them speak, as I know how hard they have worked and do work. Some are Pa. Representatives and State Senators Pat Gallagher, and Jimmy Dillon discuss bills they have worked on and helped pass. .
A young man is also running for Senate with all his own money. He has planned a fantastic campaign with superb ideas and a group of young supporters always by his side. They knock on doors and hand out flyers, singing his praises. This young man is impressive, and his name is Joe Picozzi.
Joe Picozzi is full of energy. It is crucial not just to vote a straight ticket but to vote and read what each candidate and issue stands for, as it is also essential to consider your local problems and issues.
This is an important election. We spoke, heard, and discussed many local issues.
LOCAL AREA and ISSUES TOO, NOT ONLY FEDERAL.
Many people who spoke at this event helped get the I95 Highway repaired quickly after that terrible accident, enabling it to open in two weeks. Those who read my blog may remember the link below a reminder of the terrible event
I am so happy I live in a community like Delaire Landing, which opens its doors to educate its residents about who and what is going on in the community around them and also provides a place where we can vote.
