Keep going! You got this!
23 years ago, I passed my real estate exam. I remember many doubters that gave me little chance of any success. I worked hard, had a couple great mentors, invested in extra education and training. My talented wife later joined me and that added a valuable dynamic for our clients. I could easily retire now, but choose to work alongside my wife.
I loved football as a kid and missed being a starter on the #1 ranked HS team, because of 2 knee injuries.
I invested in baseball instead, as I could throw harder than most kids, so focused on my gifts. I over heard people very close to me say they didnt think I was very good. I later went on and made First Team All Conf as a Pitcher, team MVP, and played some in college.
My high school councelor told me that I needed to go to junior college after mediocre ACT score. I graduated from UNI with a higher grade point avg than I had in HS.
I got over 50 rejection letters from radio stations applying for on air positions. I later had the #1 rated afternoon radio show in the Cedar Rapids market.
After 13 years being in real estate in CR, and over 600 transactions, we did what Realtors rarely ever do. Expand into a new city. It's been 10 years now in Phoenix, and we have built a biz from zero, into record profits we never would have experienced otherwise. When I quit my Mesa CEO Keller Williams position, the owner suggested I move back home or go back into radio. Ha! A few Iowa Realtors told me that our business back home would dry up after the first year of being in AZ. I have had a team of various great agents help me in Iowa and served over 40 clients in the last decade, and 3 more just this year. We have sold over $100M in real estate in our career.
Don't listen to skeptics. Go with your heart and put fear aside. Set backs are opportunities for comebacks! What others say and do is a projection of their own reality...not YOURS! Take the jump...make the change, be who you are. #wolteradventures
