And Here Is One More

Okay, add this one to the series I posted earlier... geesh, I thought the story was over. I do like this addition as the message is to be content with what we have and don't covet the wealth/good fortune of others.

We are all familiar with "Keeping Up With The Jones". All to often those who do live beyond their means, trying to keep up (Coveting) with the Jones's, end up in a total disaster.

The best advice on what you can afford for the purchase of a home is going to come from your banker.

Your Banker knows what you can afford. Spending more than that will get you in trouble. And who knows, the Jones's may be the next name you see in the bankruptcies in your local news paper.

The moral of the story? Don't buy a bigger house and be able to eat steak instead of fruit salad!

Thanks Bob for the advice. Jeff

Living within your means is always the right course to take. Be happy with what you can afford... there are more important things than what money cam buy!

I agree Kat Palmiotti . A nice home, car, motorcycle, etc may turn my head but the thought "I gotta have it" is gone in an instant.

I can't even remember the last time that I had fruit salad, but it was probably at a potluck, haha.

Hi Bob... my mother taught me at a very young age not to build my life based on what other people do or have.

Excellent motherly advice Nina Hollander, Broker . I just never cared my self although I think my Dad was big on keeping up with the Jones's. He felt debt was a good motivator. I was the opposite... being debt free is my motivation.
