PURPOSE of a BILLIONAIRE? (life ponder-reflection)

With great wealth comes great responsibilities. Unless the plow is put to the field, both the plow and the field become less for not being used for their purpose. What is the point of someone having all that wealth if it is to have it for just wealth's sake. That does not pass functional thinking, common sense or good stewardship conduct

ONE PERSPECTIVE of MANY

Billionaires, who own & run businesses offer employment to others this we know & bravo! They also use the IRS tax deduction system to give to charities, causes, & personal likes AND write it off instead of giving to Uncle Sam. Again, bravo! I want to present to you another way to assess this. So please, let's not argue but explore

BOASTING ABOUT TANGIBLE THINGS?

Do billionaires all get together and count their money and the last one to leave the room is considered the wealthiest and fairest of them all. How about a billionaire that is too busy to count his money because he is out spending it. Now we are getting closer to the point of the post...spending and spreading wealth

SPEND IT...PLANT SEEDS FOR GROWTH AND GENERAL WELFARE

To me, creating jobs would be most beneficial and logical thing to do for many reasons. First, you support the country and its capitalistic business model. Then, your fellow man has a chance to lay hold of their dreams for themselves and their families. After that, education to those that want it should be offered, and we are just getting started here

NOTE: Investing one billion dollars at 5% gives an annual return of $50 MILLION DOLLARS still leaving the principal (1 billion) untouched. Wow! What can be done with $50 MILLION per year for the massive good of all from the bottom up

BONDING WITH TEMPORAL THINGS

How many mansions, cars, clothes, jewelry, toys can one own or have access too? I do believe that the correct way to enjoy anything is to enjoy it in the moment that you are in it whatever that is but modestly. It is like going to an amusement park. The whole concept starts with positive thought/expectation. Then, the excitement is fine-tuned and narrowed as you enjoy the little details like the ride you are on or the snack you are eating. It is a good experience.

CONSIDER

I don't see how anyone who is rich beyond this or many lifetimes would need hold on to more than they can spend, comprehend or enjoy. Let me illustrate this point. What would be your first response to the following headline or story if it appeared. Don't think, just respond!

BILLIONAIRE ON SPENDING SPREE...

Mr. BIG-BUCKS has taken a small city under his personal wing and has decided to renovate the libraries, ball fields, school classes, recreational areas and encourage small business growth. College grants will be given to students who enroll and finish the required courses including job placement. Carpool transportation available for shopping, job commute and recreation. Many billionaires are adopting cities more and more...

INSTEAD YOU READ

So and so bought a super yacht, a huge palatial estate with lots of swimming pools, acreage, horses, gadgets, surrounded by high walls and security. The same traveled abroad, across country and sampled all 5 star accommodations while sleeping in silk sheets and pajamas. $10,000 bottles of wine sampled, one of a kind car (s) purchased, and artworks and custom jewelry in the tens of millions adorn the home

LET'S BE CLEAR

It's YOUR money! Do what you will or won't. Who am I or anyone else to tell anyone what to do, why & how? I personally get a deep satisfaction from helping others in the many ways I can. I also recognize this short time given to us. Consider

REAL WEALTH

I remember reading the story (perhaps you did too) of a humble, loving and giving man who was wealthy beyond the known Universe stepping away from all that to visit with the less fortunate and becoming their servant as he mingled with them. He methodically went about his ministry of helping the poor in spirit & body regain hope and well-being with promises of seeing them again. He was a fisher of men, their welfare, & demonstrated what love-driven wealth can really do

This is the true coin & spending of wealth in this earthly realm...

Hi, Richie, your reflections on wealth and responsibility resonate deeply, especially in today’s economic landscape. It’s vital for those with significant resources to recognize their potential impact on communities through meaningful investments and philanthropy. Encouraging billionaires to focus on fostering growth and supporting others is not only a wise approach but also a way to cultivate a legacy that benefits society as a whole.

Well, at the very least I can sleep nights knowing that as I am not a Billionaire, I don't have to make all those decisions.

Hi Richie- I can think of so many things I would do with that much money! In the top 100 things I would do, would not be a house, car, boat, etc. Well, since I'm not a billionaire, I'll think of other things.

Yes, a decent, well-balanced & aware soul would have an agenda far from the wide road of thought, AND do much good little Kathy Streib
