We’ve made it to the end of October, and we are looking at the final stages of fall foliage for the season. Whether you’re a full time resident or a visitor to the Pocono Mountains, prepare for your final scenic shots of the season. While the Northern and Central regions of the Poconos, including Pike and Wayne counties, and northern Monroe county, are just passing their peak colors, there is still much left to see in the southern region.
If you’re looking to take in the colors at their peak this week, consider visiting the Delaware Water Gap. Located in southern Monroe county, the Water Gap is a popular locale for residents and visitors alike. For a more leisurely weekend activity, consider taking the scenic drive along Route 209. This takes you from Jim Thorpe, through Stroudsburg and Bushkill, and to Dingman’s Ferry: all spectacular towns to stop along the way to take a few snaps or grab some snacks. One thing is for sure: if you’re in the Poconos this weekend, you’re sure to be treated to fiery reds and brassy golds as far as you can see.
