Sandpoint Realty 'Thursday Thought' asks us to shift the way we think, in a good way.

Sandpoint Realty Thursday Thought Courage Aristotle

As a rule I believe most of us think of only soldiers in battle, first responders rushing into burning buildings, those putting themselves at risk to save another, when thinking of courage.

No doubt courage found in all the above.  Often overlooked are the everyday people who have the courage to say no when the group is saying no.  Those single parents who wake every morning knowing the huge responsibility they have.  The list goes on and on which can be taken for granted, yet it truly is courage showing itself on a daily basis that allows all the other good character traits shine through.

Honesty, empathy, integrity, responsibility, compassion, to name but a few.

Good morning, Mark... that Thursday thought is just as good on Friday... Aristotle has totally stood the test of time... over centuries and day to day.

Yes Mark, Courage comes first because it’s what helps us do all the other good things, like being honest and kind, even when it’s tough!

Good morning Mark,

What a great quote to share this Halloween morning. I always find Aristotle's quotes to be so inspiring and this one is no different.

Good morning Mark. When the group is gingerly off in a direction you question and you stand out from the crowd and say "no", and do not change your mind under pressure to do so, the words of Aristotle ring true! Enjoy your day.

Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint-Idaho - I really love how you gathered your thoughts together about courage. And you did it so well. My spouse was a First Responder as a Paramedic, and I always thought he was very courageous. Fire and Rescue where we lived were all volunteers at that time. When he was no longer alive, I never thought about being courageous to raise the kids alone, but I did take responsibility seriously. My duties to them were an investment in their future.

Will, you brought back a family memory with your comment.  Our front porch was set up with a door to kitchen and another to living room.  On Halloween Mom would hand out candy to the kids, front door, while Dad handed out shots to the parents, kitchen door.  Needless to say it was not only the kids that wanted to make a 2nd round to our house.  lol.  Thanks for the memory.  m

You have to have a plan, and then have the fortitude and courage to implement and accomplish it.
