Leaves, Leaves Go Away, Come Back Green Someday

I can't say that I've ever seen leaves sticking to the wall with the exception of Oshibana which is an art form one of our guest artists uses to create wall art.

The artist is Shayna Rodriquez, a young Navaho Native American lady from NM who moved here last year when her father took a job in the ND oil field.

Changing the subject slightly there is a section of sidewalk at the zoo I love that looks like this:

Now, as the title of my blog states, I wish the leaves in my yard would go away. It is always such a joy to see new leaves bud in the spring. It will be about 7 months before I see that again. 🤔

Bob "RealMan" Timm - I like the cartoon and the artistic expression using natural leaves. It's very creative! The leaf imprints inside the concrete sidewalks at the zoo is eye catching.

Raking leaves is good exercise but does seem overwhelming, especially when you get it all cleaned up and another gust of wind brings it back.

Thank you Patricia Feager, ABR,CRS,GRI,MRP . Keeping up with the leaves is always a race against them getting covered up with a snow fall. We won the race this year. 😊

Hello Bob - while I haven't raked leaves for a number of years, I have memories of doing so when I was younger.  It's not only good exercise for the body but the pondering potential can't be underestimated. And that's a thought, I'll leaf with you.   🍂🙃🍂

We said Michael Jacobs as I remember when I did all the raking I thought of all the joy it would bring the kids to jump in. Now I use one of those yard sweepers and all I can think about is staying in a straight line. 😏

Oh my goodness, Bob... do you need to ask how much I love that cat picture?

Shayna originally brought in three cat creations and one dog Nina Hollander, Broker . Of those four this is the only one left. I expect it will sell for Christmas. I hope she brings in more.

Interesting cat photo! As for the leaves, raking them was such a chore at our last house. Where we are now, there is no need to rake which makes me very happy!

We don't have a normal yard, Bob "RealMan" Timm - we have native grasses but they don't get mowed. We have no hardwood trees around the house- the nearest trees are pines and firs. Our Larch/Tamarack trees do turn yellow/orange in the Fall and lose their pine needles but those don't need to be raked. And any trees we have with actual leaves that fall off are in the forest and we just leave them there.

This may be a silly question but what happens to the ones left in/on the yard Kat Palmiotti ? If I don't rake it's a mess in the spring.

Hello Bob, this year I have a new plan for the leaves in my back yard.  I rake them everyday for 30 mins per day, not waiting till they are all down.

I understand but I must say that this year I was glad to rake as it is/was a sure sign I am healing up pretty well.

When the green leaves come back in your area is that the clear cut sign that the weather has warmed up?

Bob "RealMan" Timm

Yes! We may have another frost or two Brian England but winter is over when the buds show up on the trees. Keep in mind that would be late, late April or mid May.

Shayna is a very talented young lady!  Thanks for showing these to us.

You are welcome Ralph Gorgoglione and yes she is very talented BUT like many artists she is suffering from depression. Part of that depression is that she moved up here with family from NM and ND is nothing like NM as far as I know.

How can I help this young lady?

Aside from supporting her art work I don't know Ralph Gorgoglione . If you wish to say hello to her and let her know you appreciate her work. My son has most of the artwork in the gallery on line through his Facebook page but he has not gotten hers up yet. I just asked him to do it tomorrow. His Facebook page is Timmothy Timm and the gallery is a sub page. You can email Shayna at shaynaturnner@outlook.com .
