Making Life Easier with the Apps

With the advent of technology, we have all had significant changes to the way we live and also for some the way we do business. Many cannot imagine period without the conveniences of the portable phone and all that it allows us to do.

By comparison to some, I have very few apps on my phone, maybe 40 at the most and the few I have do get used a lot,

Like so many of us, I use my camera app a lot. For business I use it to remind me of what I saw, I do not take photos to use with marketing as I have a real camera for that and lately have been using a professional photographer that also has drone capabilities.

There is nothing wrong with the camera on the phone as its quality is comparable to what I get from my Nikon, but I like the varied options of my Nikon better.

My phone's GPS is invaluable to me as I use it for proper guidance and it is better than the navigation system I have in my car as it not only allows me directions but gives me advance notice of congestion so that I might find an alternate route.

Also, unlike a navigation system in a car or truck, it doesn't need to go into a shop to be updated by the auto techs.

One that I loved but due to a change in our MLS system is no longer available to me is Homesnap.  It gave me listings in a second but the feature I really liked was the ability to find property boundaries and walk them with a client.

On a few occasions it allowed a client to see infringement by adjacent owners and in one case even caused a buyer to not want to pursue the property.

Swing U Golf App

I enjoy the game of golf and with the advent of smart phones, the technology has allowed me to get a better feel for golf courses that are unknown to me. An app that makes it easier is Swing U

It is free and not only will it show any course within a player's immediate area, but shows full hole layout, yardage like a golf GPS, keeps score and will also maintain a player's handicap.

This app has saved me a lot of frustration over the years as I have been able to track yardage for shots that would have been blind otherwise.

Our smart phones make us better professionals as well as making life easier.

This is a post for the October Challenge Show us the Apps
