I Am Thankful
When Wise Decision-Making
is Present
Exploring Reality
AR November Challenge
The subject of wise decision-making is open for discussion and debate. Definitions and interpretations can certainly extend any dialogue. Or soliloquy. Style-of-speech seems to matter for some. While any outcome may not be perfect it can be ideal in and for the moment.
I am not so naive to believe a meeting of the minds will result in moving forward. This seems to be in evidence when it comes to real estate true-to-life television shows, like HGTV's House Hunters. Is it or any of its kind, slices of reality in the industry. Or a slap-in-the-face. Maybe, sarcasm of sorts, satire or something else.
What’s not to believe about buyers who have sometimes seen countless properties for sale before decisively making a choice from three competing homes. Some of their selections seems far from the reality of their home buying list requirements. I digress. . .
Unbelievable? Illegitimate? Something far more sinister? Many thoughts come forth as such things reside in an area that is incredible-adjacent. When House Hunters began airing in 1999, I had been active in the industry for a few years. Was such reality fakery or some sleight of hand editing from its beginning? Of course, this is coming from a wise-a$$ sort of guy.
It may be difficult to think of realty reality television as something associated with gratitude. Tossing aside the implausibility of it all, escapist fare can lead to many sorts of pondering possibilities. I think well-prepared buyers can thankfully (and hopefully) see through the $+^f! portrayed on television as well as elsewhere in the reality of everyday life. I continue to observe. And such reality can prompt conversation. So that's a good thing, right?
Yes, it's simply complicated. As always, I remain grateful for satire of many sorts.
This is my submission for the November 2024 AR challenge. Thank you for reading.
