Thankful Thoughts…For Social Media Videos
When YouTube emerged back in 2005, for the life of me, I couldn’t grasp the idea that strangers would want to watch someone’s video.
What do I know????
Fast forward many years and here I am extolling the virtues of social media videos. We have a group in the Rain (YouTube Thursdays) devoted to social media videos.
I’m retired so why am I thankful for these videos?
First…I follow the uplifting videos…the ones that make me smile, laugh, open my mind to an amazing world, and applaud the many creative people in the world.
During our forced stay-at-home months in 2020, these short videos were especially helpful because they were like a window to the world for me. (by the way, my time per day on Facebook is less than 5 minutes)
Have you seen Teddy?
Warning dog lovers...you'll be hooked!
The second reason I like social media videos is that they are visual instructions on how to do something. Larry turns to YouTube when he wants to learn how to assemble a generator system, replace the brakes on our Prius or use the many tools he has.
I’ve used YouTube videos for answers to a tech question and for something as simple as “How to clean a baseball hat.”
To have the luxury of turning to my phone or laptop every day and learn, discover, and laugh is what I’m grateful for.
This is my first entry in this month’s Thankful Thoughts: ActiveRain's November 2024 Gratitude Challenge 🍁🙌✍️ hosted by Debe Maxwell.
This is my favorite challenge of the year because it nudges us to give thought about the people, places, and things that we are thankful for.
AND I love reading the other posts for this challenge because it adds that third layer or dimension to who you are!!
