How popular a place is is based on its net inflow, or how many more people tried to move into it than leave it.
- Miami: Net inflow of $8,600; New York place is the top origin place.
- Phoenix: Net inflow of $7,600; Seattle is the top starting city.
- Las Vegas: Net inflow of $6,600; Los Angeles is the top origin place.
- Tampa: Net inflow of $6,000; New York place is the origin place.
- Orlando: Net inflow of $5,400; New York place is the top origin place.
- Sacramento: Net inflow of $5,400; San Francisco is the top starting city.
- Cape Coral: Net inflow of $4,900; Chicago is the top origin place.
- North Port-Sarasota: Net intake of 4,900; Chicago is the top source city.
- Net inflow of $4,800 to Dallas; Los Angeles is the top origin place.
- Net inflow of $4,300 to Houston; New York place is the top origin place.

Overall, the most popular places to move were Miami, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Tampa, and Orlando. The most popular places to live are usually in the Sun Belt because they are relatively cheap. In eight of the top ten places, the average home costs less than it did in the top origin.
Also, people are moving to the Sun Belt from other countries. Since last year, the number of people coming to Phoenix, Tampa, Orlando, Cape Coral, North Port-Sarasota, Dallas, and Houston more than doubled. They still didn't get as many newcomers as the country's big coastal metropolises, though.
