Real Estate Agent with Dirt Road Real Estate SA676002000

Today, we hear how real estate agents are making too much money. Yet very few actually know all the behind the scenes activities that happen within a real estate transaction especially for out of area buyers.

Professional real estate agents and REALTORS® are the Source of the Source. These state licensed professionals can guide potential sellers and buyers to the various resources to expedite sales of residential property or vacant land parcels.

For example, when buying a home in AZ, these professional real estate agents can be the source of the source for:

  • Local Financial Lenders including for vacant land
  • Local Title and Escrow Firms
  • Local Insurance Companies especially for Manufactured Homes
  • Local Vendors for Manufactured Homes, Plumbers, Electricians, etc.
  • Local Inspectors such as Home, Termite, Solar, Well, etc.
  • Local Utility Firms such as Electric, Gas, Water
  • Quick access to property information from property dimensions, to property taxes, to zoning
  • MLS information not visible to the general public/consumers
  • Access to EPA Flood Information
  • Local Home Owner's Associations' Contact Information
  • Road Accessibility
  • Properties on the market that are specific to the buyer's needs and wants

The above is just a partial list of how professional real estate agents or REALTORS® who are the source of the source.

Leanne, it always amazes me how quickly people are quick to judge that someone makes too much for what they do.  Yet the judgement comes from someone who has never practiced working in that particular field for a day, much less as a career field.  This is for most any career choice.  From waiter, electrician, plumber, construction flagger, etc, all the way to yes us Realtor's.  M

So true. Yesterday I had a call from a vacant land FSBO who thought writing up a purchase contract should only take 2 hours and no more than $200.  In AZ we are legally not allowed to just write up paperwork as we must be hired by the seller or the buyer. After I explained the hours required were much more than 2 hours, the FSBO decided to work directly with a Title company.

Your words are very true.  When people are seeking the cheap and easy, these are probably not going to be the best clients.

Leanne Smith  you might have heard me mention it over the years, one of my neighbors gave me a phone number and amazingly I listed the house and sold it. It was a probate sale. the neighbor realized immediately what an easy money business it is:))))) She got her license, spent money for her MLS, Realtor Dues and E & O Insurance and did not have one sale in 12 months.... easy money, Endre

Good morning Endre Barath, Jr. and yes I remember you sharing that story.  Sales is not easy and especially not easy in real estate. Thanks for sharing that story and one that needs repeating.

Hello Leanne - "the source of the source" is a succinct description.

The source of the source is one of the most consistent phrases I have heard since taking my initial pre-licensing course and continues nearly 8 years later.
