Make Your Home Smell Like Fall With Essential Oils

By
Property Manager with Made In A Pinch

As the weather turns cooler and we head into the holiday season, I get tons of questions about how to make homes smell like pumpkin spice or fall so everyone can get their fill of those cozy fall feels.

I have two great ways to give your home those comforting sweater and pumpkin spice latte vibes.

First, add some bowls of cinnamon scented pinecones around your home! They're easy to make yourself, or you can find them in your local grocery store or hardware store.

Second, pull out your essential oil diffuser and whip up some DIY fall diffuser blends to add that much-wanted fragrance to your home.

Select essential oils such as cinnamon, nutmeg, pine, and orange can help your home transition from energetic summer vibes to cozy winter ones. Here are five of my favorite blends:

1. Pumpkin Spice

Calling all pumpkin lovers! This blend is everything you want as you pull out the sweaters and enjoy a chai tea.

  • 5 drops Cinnamon Essential Oil
  • 2 drops Clove Essential Oil
  • 2 drops Nutmeg Essential Oil

2. Falling Leaves

If you love walking outside with the leaves blowing around you, you'll love this essential oil fall diffuser blend!

  • 3 drops Sandalwood
  • 2 drops Pine
  • 2 drops Lavender
  • 1 drop Cinnamon

3. Cozy Evenings

This essential oil fall diffuser blend is cozy, spicy, and warm, perfect all autumn long.

  • 3 drops Cinnamon
  • 2 drops Orange
  • 2 drops Clove
  • 1 drop Nutmeg

4. Fresh-Baked Cookies

This baked good blend leans into vanilla for a sweet smell that makes you think of cookies fresh out of the oven.

  • 4 drops Vanilla
  • 2 drops Cinnamon
  • 2 drops Nutmeg
  • 1 drop Ginger

5. Cozy Cabin

Do you love curling up under a blanket around a roaring fire? This essential oil fall diffuser blend smells just like that experience!

  • 3 drops Pine
  • 2 drops Juniper
  • 2 drops Cedarwood
  • 1 drop Eucalyptus

Using a diffuser is very simple to do, and cleanup is a breeze. Plus, it avoids putting unwanted chemicals in the air as candles do. So, the next time you want to make your home smell like fall, try one of these amazing essential oil remedies!
