Take time to practice thinking clearly. Clear thinking involves trusting the only person you have to correct is yourself. It is an essential cornerstone of self-respect. Self-respect is strengthened when we take the necessary time and energy to monitor our own negative thoughts about others and stop believing in gossip. There was a book I read about a decade or more ago. The premise was to ask yourself, is that true?
Self-respect grows when we recognize that believing everything we read digitally, hear through mouthpieces and talking heads on the media or social media, may not be true. Make a decision to stop believing everything that isn't any of your business and to learn to mind your own. 2024 has taught me, not even paid and elected Judges are always right.
Working hard to convince others you are right, and others are wrong or have wronged you, is not a psychologically healthy way of living. Negative thoughts, comments, or stories about others don't belong in public. There isn't enough time on earth to waste time believing you are right and most likely everyone else is wrong. We need to see ourselves for who we are - People. Not gods. These are my reflections after the election. I began taking Yoga classes about a year ago. It is very helpful in putting things into proper perspective.
