"Insert" What You Do Not Want to Miss Out On!

The days do fly by. I find that if I do not prioritize the important things in life that I do not want to miss out on, I'll end up missing out on them!  And those important things are usually "the little things".

Isn't it ironic that "the little things" sometimes are little in size but big in importance such as grandchildren and great grandchildren??

Sometimes it's taking in a rescue dog or cat...the little creatures.  Your generosity to them is their world!

Or sometimes they're "little" in the amount of time or effort they take, which increases their likelihood of  falling into those cracks? Like making that 10 minute call or 2 minute text to let someone know you're thinking about them.

Or turning off the phone and putting it down to "really" listen to someone, giving them your full attention.

Usually the "little" things in life are partially little because they do not have to cost much to do...but those are the things have the highest return in life!  A birthday card, that phone call or text, a "Hi! I'm so glad to see you" smile...big returns.

And then there are the things that should just be a natural part of who we are, like letting people know that you appreciate them... The "please" and "thank you" habit seems small but it sure makes life better!  Headed to the kitchen for a glass of tea? Ask if anyone else would like a glass!

I am so blessed!  Grandchildren and great grands have been a part of my life.  They've all had kitchen island time at my house, making cookies or some other concoction.  I don't see my children often but the texts and phone calls are often. I'm blessed with a loving husband and we are always doing something to bless the other one.

For me, "inserting" the little things in life is really inserting the big things and they sure are the things I don't want to miss out on!

1~Judi Barrett - It's absolutely wonderful to hear from you! Being a Grandmother is just as important as being a Mother. These children need you! You need them. I'm happy to hear your days are filled with the giggles, questions, and the love of grandchildren!

Good morning Judi. Many years ago I learned if you take time for the small things, it is easier to tackle the big things. Enjoy your day.

I am glad you are back - and that Kathy Streib featured you - I go to Trader Joe's every week for fresh lilies - now I get two bunches rather than one.  They open up all through the week and give me lots of joy.

Thank you!  I found it on X.  I never have been very active on Twitter or X.  I think it’s time to change that.
