Welcome to The Mountain Grille at East Mountain Golf Course
After a 2 year absence, the club house at the East Mountain Golf Course is open with many changes designed for safety and comfort with a new 19th hole.
There had been minimal changes to the inside of the club house since originally built in the early 1930's as a WPA project. As an aside, I have played golf with the son of one of those workers, whose job was to break up and remove the rocks from the fairways. I think he took too many breaks.
All inside is state of the art and all mechanicals have been completed to modern day codes for the safety of all.
The new owners, Pama and Mark Goggins, and Fran Phelan have intentions of operating The Mountain Grille as a year-round, family style restaurant. The building has new HVAC systems for cooing and heating.
Bright and airy, there are TV screens surrounding the dining area for sporting events
Already gaining popularity with the golfers as a respite after hitting the fairways with a celebratory beverage and lunch to complete the day.
Th uniqueness of the inside was kept with the stone masonry walls and the large fireplace at the end of the room.
The kitchen is state of the art with gleaming stainless steel gas gills.
Th dispensing system for beverages is gas pressurized for a constant pour.
The food refrigeration system is well designed and easily accessed.
All with customer satisfaction and service in mind.
In season, the outside area has large tables with sun protection while the shots, both good and bad are discussed and the tab is presented to the losing team.
While there may still be a couple of bugs to sort, already it is gaining popularity with those that have stopped to appreciate the restoration.
There is a private meeting room for calculating the results of tournaments or a quick meeting of the women's or men's association directors.
The men's and ladies' lockers are all new and while there is no longer a club storage area, lockers are there for those wishing to shower in the modern baths and comfortably enjoy a meal.
The parking lot has been newly paved and more handicapped spots made available. New high intensity lighting has also been installed for late night convenience.
All in all, for those that have waited patiently for the job to be done, the consensus is it is pleasant and enjoyable.
