Bethesda is building lots of luxury condos like the Darcy and the Cheval, but if your pocket doesn't allow for $1,700 a square foot of living space - and 3,000 square feet of living space - then you will love the condos at West Spring! Two bedroom condos here are typically somewhere around $215,000 - $270,000 with condo fees around $635-$780, including all utilities. In the fall of 2019 there was a three bedroom condo on the market for $275,000 with a condo fee of $799! Imagine getting over 1200 square feet of living space for just $275,000! The current owner was also willing to sell two covered parking spaces for $10,000 each.
Of course, prices have gone up over the last 5 years. In March 2024, a two bedroom one bath condo sold for $267,500. This unit had 873 square feet and was fully updated with a new kitchen and bath, new air handlers and luxury vinyl plank flooring. The condo fee was $635 monthly. This condo, before renovations, sold in October 2023 for $215,000.

There are a variety of sizes at West Spring Condominiums. Studios starting at 525 square feet, 1 bedroom with one bath, 2 bedroom with one bath and two bedroom two bath floor plans are there your for choosing. Some of the two bedrooms are 1403 square feet - which gives you an astonishing amount of space for the money. Built in 1962 and converted to condos in 1979, the condos originally sold for $50,000 for a two bedroom one bath. Over time, the condos have been updated by their individual owners so the sale price and property condition really do reflect the particular unit.

The condo fees at West Spring include all utilities. When you live at West Spring Condominiums, your monthly fee includes electricity, gas, heat and air conditioning, a master insurance policy, lawn maintenance, management, snow removal, trash removal, water and sewer. All you have to pay for besides your mortgage is your internet/cable service and phone, and taxes and your home owner insurance. In addition there is a move in fee.
For example, the two bedroom two bath unit with 1083 square feet has a condo fee of $780 a month in 2017 while a 797 square foot condo with one bedroom and one bath has a $360 a month fee. In Septemer 2019 the three bedroom unit with 1200 square feet has a condo fee of $799. In March 2024 a two bedroom one bath unit with 873 square feet had a condo fee of $635 monthly.

ARE THE WEST SPRING CONDOMINIUMS PET FRIENDLY?
The West Spring Condominiums are pet friendly, although there is a size restriction. This is a perfect place to have a pet since there are so many places to walk or run a dog and your cats will love watching the birds and squirrels in the trees right outside your window!

This area of Bethesda is stable and quiet. Everything that you want is nearby - either at the Westfield Montgomery Mall or less than a mile away on Old Georgetown and Democracy Boulevard and you are very close to downtown Bethesda! Westfield Montgomery Mall has lots of shops and stores like Nordstrom's, Sephora and Ann Taylor, restaurants of every price range and style from casual pizza to great seafood, and one of the best movie theaters in the area. If you want grocery stores, you have the Giant on Old Georgetown and Balducci's across the street. Other shopping choices are available at the new Pike and Rose just a few miles up Old Georgetown Road. Harris Teeter is just up the road at Montrose and I-270.
You also are very close to Cabin John Park, a great place to explore or ride the mini train. Cabin John Park is also home to a county ice skating rink where my daughter spent many happy hours placing ice hockey and learning to figure skate.
