Denver International Airport sees over 700 delays, cancellations amid snow
The ongoing snowstorm has caused various problems for those traveling in and out of the city — over 700 problems, to be exact.
As of Thursday morning, the area around the Denver International Airport saw around six inches of accumulation, causing both delays and cancellations at the largest airport in the country.
As of 4 p.m. Thursday, 782 incoming and outgoing flights had been delayed at the airport. Only eight flights have been outright cancelled, according to airport tracker site FlightAware.com .
United Airlines experienced the most amount of delays with 267, while SkyWest saw 209 delays, Southwest witnessed 197 delays and Frontier had 53 delays. Eight of the nine cancellations were from SkyWest, according to FlightAware numbers.
While snow is set to end in the area Thursday afternoon, it is expected to pick back up Friday, with an additional four-to-eight inches expected between Friday evening and Saturday morning, which could further impact flights out of the Denver airport.
