Can you "Game" the Zillow Zestimate?

All-

I want to test a theory.  My theory is as follows:

The Zillow Zestimate goes up when there is a lot of traffic to a property or saves.  In other words, "hot houses" get their Zestimate increased?

I just put a property on the market @11:30 AM EST on 11/12/2024.   The Zestimate was $809,600. I will be curious to see if you save or "heart" it for me, if the "Zestimate" goes up over the next few days.

Save it or "Heart It".

I will keep you all posted here in the comments.

Have any of you ever tried this?

Michael, it always amazes me that Z has a zestimate, then you list a home, and surprisingly the numbers change to near or at the list price.    I had that happen a few times.

Interesting experiment, Michael! It would be insightful to see if increased engagement impacts the Zestimate, as many sellers rely on this estimate when setting expectations. This could provide a valuable look into how online metrics influence automated valuations and potentially affect buyer perception.

Hello Michael - interesting.  I read your reply to the comment by Dennis Neal and while I am not playing "the game" I wonder what other details you will share as time goes on.  Good luck with your new listing.  That's important to the seller.
