I PROMISE is one THING KEEPING IT another (life)

In every facet of life and function one thing stands out which is the core principle or the engine that drives it all and i.e. the integrity behind it or motive if you will. Take a moment to consider that when it comes to products and services plus interactive-relationships personal or professional promises are implied, expressed or succinctly made. It is similar to the flower and the bee dynamics

NATURE'S PROMISE EXCHANGE

The flower puts out a distinct message directly aimed at the bee in the form of a promise. Visit with me and you get pollen, rest and nourishment. The bee in return says I will plus I will let others know and together this silent exchange works because its integrity cannot be broken as long as the consideration is successfully exchanged. Promise for a promise is at work and without effort too. It runs itself when joined. The system works! It is so simple

PRODUCT PROMISES

A product is bound by the same principles. Buy me and I will do this or that for you. Of course, the promise is confined to the use as directed with small print advisory and in some cases unconditional satisfaction guarantees. Imagine a product that doesn't perform? How long do you think its shelf life would be? That's how important a promise is i.e. life or death!

SERVICE PROMISES

Here the promises are upped considerably because of human nature which is complicated in its demands. It's personal therefore subject to emotions and judgments not to mention criticisms which all govern the success or failure of the service provider. Bear in mind its not just the services but also how the customer is serviced. Recordings? On hold? Long lines?

WORTHY NOTE: A promise made is only as good as the one making it.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Is there anyone who talks fondly of having to wait or be put on hold to receive the service or product? Customer service or service customer has long been controversial & is a never-ending effort of keeping a high & consistent standard. Why is it so difficult to maintain? Simply put it relies on people to serve people & people are infallible.

HOW IT ALL HAPPENS IS RELEVANT

Long lines to avail oneself of a product or service is a take-away and a satisfaction-killer. Easy access and use or lack thereof affects the offerings and people who barter enter into the realms of cause and effect which testifies to reality. Experiences can be positive or negative. These outcomes affect the successes. People have needs & we must address them

START HERE

Was the promise kept? Yes or no. It is that simple for the first step. The proof of it will be repeat business which confirms and supports the success. Keeping promises is a foundation to build upon for long-term returns. RESULTS DON'T LIE. Smart and innovative service and product providers also discovered another dynamic in their favor

EXCEEDING THE PROMISE

Not only was the promise kept (expressed or implied) but went beyond making the customers ooh & ahh within themselves. Any time or money spent in exceeding an expectation is just like money in the bank sort of an insurance guaranteeing success now and in the times to come. A high bar is set. Now to keep it so! It's ongoing too

SECOND CHANCES?

In the world of consumer activities, a second chance is not available as the rule. People do not forget or forgive the basics and that is the way it is. Competitors learn from their own competition what to do or not and often a failed operation comes back under another name or title to give it another go! Expensive lesson btw....

WORD of MOUTH

Consider "word of mouth" sort of like a police force for the consumer world especially in today's Internet! When it comes to time and money and mistreatment of people in this realm, whether the experience was good or bad, people tend to be outspoken. Lets take a moment to emphasize this point and its power too

KISS of DEATH

First off, the service provider is helpless against this movement of public mouth. If negative it will sink you if not corrected & it stings you when at work. Remember: One person tells another who tells still another & you got hundreds or thousands depending on people upset real or imagined too! Deadly dynamics! This kiss kills.

POSITIVE SMOOCH

If one person willingly and on their own likes what happened, they too will tell the story over and over making success head over to the product & services in a rush or stampede & steady flow! Money cannot buy this even though some try to fudge with phony reviews. If the promise is kept or exceeded, you cannot stop this success beating a path to your door

THE STANDARD RESPONSE

Was the promise kept? It is as simple as that. To make a promise & to keep it is easy & if an act of God or man intervenes it may become a challenge or a blessing in disguise? Who knows until we get there but there must be a "there" to get to. To be able to say I kept my promise is a pretty nice place to be

WORTHY HUGE PERSONAL NOTETake all I have said & apply it to the worlds of dating, marriage, friendships & work relationships. Your promise is really you on two legs. Either you walk tall or stumble depending on one thing: YOUR WORD of HONOR...That's the real value!

Ahh, if we cannot keep a promise we should never make it. The same goes with customer service "promises." If you're going to make them, you better know how to follow through!

Hello Richie - how long will promises made be kept.  Such an appropriate post in any season where plenty of such thoughts are declared.
