Nerdin Gardens: When Gifted Lemons...🍋🍋🍋
The Meyer lemon trees in Nerdin Gardens have finally ripened and gifted us with a bountiful, citrus harvest. These bright yellow orbs make me smile and pucker at the same, enjoying them right from the tree. I cut them into six pieces, peel -n- eat!
Their fragrant, meaty flesh is so versatile as well. Lemons add flavor to any drink, such as:
🍋 Lemonade: Classic, southern sipper.
🍋 Iced Tea: Refreshing, summer drink.
🍋 Margarita: Tangy, alcoholic cocktail.
🍋 Wine Spritzer: Light and bubbly drink.
🍋 Hot Toddy: Comforting, winter warm up.
Lemon bars, tarts, cakes, muffins, scones with a tangy lemon curd, all are a wonderful treat that goes well with a favorite beverage. If feeling adventurous, can even make a light, lip-smacking lemon sorbet!
Create a vinaigrette to use as a flavorful dressing for salads, or pour over a roasted chicken, fish or roasted potatoes. Adding lemon to risotto as it cooks, adds brightness to that comfort dish, one of our favorites.
Whatever the heart desires, Meyer lemons add a citrus touch that is memorable and makes you want more. What a gift! 🍋🍋🍋
