It is always exciting to reach closing day, especially when everything has gone smoothly throughout a transaction. I met Hannah and Tom not that long ago when we met to discuss working together and they mentioned they wanted to buy a house before next May. After going over all the details of how the real estate process works in PA, getting approved for a mortgage etc they decided to work with me.
They quickly got approved from a local lender, and we went to look at homes. At the very last minute Hannah texted me one more address to add to our tour, promising me she would never do this to me again. Well that one last house was the one. As soon as they walked in they knew. Funnily enough it was the first house we toured as well. We did go and see several other houses that day, but at the end they both looked at each other and said can we make an offer.
I understood as there was a lot about the house that met all the things they had said they were interested in finding in a house and a home. Plus some things that were not on their list, like an above ground pool. But, as we moved through the process, the house grew on them, even with a steep list of things that arose from the inspection, the sellers responded with a very generous offer that made everything work.
When their mothers came to see the home, they both loved it as well. Yes, it is an older house, built in 1874 and is located in an area with sidewalks that allow them to walk to the center of town and enjoy the restaurants and bars along the main street. There is also easy access for trails so Tom can train for his Ultra-Marathons as well.
As you can see from the photo they are very excited and happy.
After settlement they gave me a wonderful little note card that said:
Dear Nick
