What Is The Last Piece Of The Puzzle?

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Ward County Notary Services 607851

Regular readers of my blog know that Timmothy, my son and creator of the Titus & Philemon cartoon strip, is an avid jigsaw puzzle solver. The worst thing for a puzzler is not having the final piece. Below is Timmothy's most recent puzzle.

We have even purchased brand new, sealed in the box, puzzles that were missing a piece. It's frustrating but it happens.

So what is the last piece of the puzzle when it comes to a Real Estate transaction?

If you are thinking the exchange of keys I will say you are wrong. When the legal aspects have been completed and you all thank each other it's NOT the shaking of hands either. This is, indeed, a trick question. Realtors never say "it is finished". At least professionals never say it is finished. It's time to put your clients name in a "tickler" file and set a plan of contact for the future. Many of us like to call on them annually and on important events days. If you are hoping to have referrals in the future you need to keep your contacts in mind and to keep them CONTACTS?

Good morning Bob. The key to success is repetition and regular contact after closing never really ends. Enjoy your feast and don't eat too much!

The worst feeling in the world to get to the end and miss one piece. Wishing all my family and AR friends a Happy Thanksgiving.

Hello Bob - puzzle-solving is definitely a part of everyday life and in evidence in real estate.  It can be a frustrating process when a final piece is missing.  Good analogy.  And the search for solutions for many such situations continues. . .    Happy Thanksgiving too.

Hi Bob,
That would have been my answer: "Staying in contact".

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

Yes staying in contact is a big piece of the puzzle of real estate. Speaking of jigsaw puzzles, I love doing them in person but have been doing them on an app on my phone which is surprisingly quite fun as well.

Those puppies are soooo cute, Bob! As for keeping up with clients, I have it down to a fine art... I touch mine 40 times a year on average.

Diane received a 1000 peace puzzle and once she puts it together, I will let you know if all pieces were there or not... on a side note loved the Real Estate analogy, Bob "RealMan" Timm

Thank you Endre Barath, Jr. I hope Diane has all the pieces as it's pretty frustrating when you have 999 pieces and that's it. 🤨

There's nothing more frustrating than to get to the end of putting puzzle together only to find a piece or two is missing.

I agree Myrl Jeffcoat , I'm even disappointed when I'm not the one putting the puzzle together.
