Thanksgiving Week…My Cup Runneth Over
While we are grateful throughout the year, Thanksgiving brings out the urge to give serious thought to our lives and what we are thankful for.
When I get the PPM cloud over me (Poor Pitiful Me), the first thing I do is actively think about everything in my life…all of the wonderful people, my friends, my birds…everything!
Reading Brian England’s Sunday posts are a weekly reminder that no matter what I think I don’t have, it pales in comparison to the real life woes of others.
While my life has not been perfect and yes, I do have some regrets, my cup runneth over.
Hints to shake the PPM’s…
~Think about what you have in your life
~Think about a past event or time that brought joy to your life
~GET OUT! Yes, get out…take a walk…meet a friend for coffee.
~Do something for someone. Take your thoughts off of you, and place them towards someone who needs your help. There are very few things more uplifting than helping someone in need.
What I need, I have…what I do not have, I do not need.
What I am given, I will be grateful for.
You know how blessed you are when you can’t decide which “blessing” to write about.
When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.
Willie Nelson
Gratitude lifts our eyes off the things we lack so we might see the blessings we possess.
Max Lucado
An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day.
Henry David Thoreau
