Good Intentions... Get You Nowhere.

All of us pet owners would like to think our pets are thankful for us and I believe for the most part they are. Those ads by the ASPCA are a good reminder that not all pets are treated as they should be. I hate those ads and I've never responded to them with a donation but my response has always been strong internally. How can someone treat a pet that way!

I'm pretty sure that any pet that has lived (or is living) in the Timm household would be happy that they are in our home. I'm pretty sure Baby is.

At this time the only other pets in our home are some baby guppies that were born in the aquarium. I have no idea if they are happy, it's hard to read tiny fish 😉.

You may remember that I had purchased five guppies, three female and two female. All of those died but prior to their dying one gave birth to about a dozen babies. Six of them are alive and growing. I am hoping they adjust well being they were born in the environment they now live in.

Good Morning Bob and I am sure that Baby is glad to be in the Timm household.  Yes I agree on the commercial, it is so sad.

Will Hamm I understand the commercials are made to get a strong reaction but I think they turn off more people then do good. First of all they should NOT be as long as they are (2 to 5 minutes) and for every abused animal they should show a happy ending by adoption. I think they would get much better results with that approach.

Thank you Roy Kelley . Baby has been a wonderful dog and I hope we have several more years of her company. She is already older than most dogs of her breed reach BUT she seems healthy and very happy.

It’s great to hear that Baby and the guppies are in a loving home, Bob! Your reflection on the ASPCA ads is a powerful reminder of the responsibility we have as pet owners to treat our animals with care and respect. It’s always inspiring to see someone committed to providing a good environment for their pets.

Thanks Dennis Neal , my view would be: if you can't love your pet you don't deserve their love.

Hmm, I think the fact that they don't have hands is more of an issue since that doesn't allow them to learn how to write, haha.

Hi Bob... having rescued my share of cats and dogs I know without a doubt they are grateful for having a good home. I see it in their eyes. I'm a regular contributor to the Charlotte Humane Society... and one day when I retire I hope to also contribute time.

I would like to do that as well Nina Hollander, Broker . Maybe we will do that together in Charlotte as I am not to fond of our shelter here.

Bob "RealMan" Timm I know, Bob, you are not a fan of your shelter. Makes me sad... we have a wonderful Humane Society and also the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department has a wonderful shelter.
